The RENIXX® (Renewable Energy Industrial Index, ISIN: DE000RENX014) World is the first global stock index for the renewable-energy industry and was developed by Dr. Norbert Allnoch, IWR - Internationales Wirtschaftsforum Regenerative Energien, a renewable energy institute, in 2005-2006. The RENIXX World was launched on 1 May 2006, standing at 1,000 points. A reverse projection was made for the RENIXX up to 2 January 2002.
Thus the RENNIX World is the first international industrial stock index for renewable energies to reflect the performance of companies in the international renewable-energy industry. The global RENIXX World Stock Index, with 30 joint-stock companies (highest market capitalisation) from the renewable-energy industry, reflects the international market and can provide investors with an aid to orientation when considering world-wide development of the market for renewable energy.

Stocks are selected on the basis of international companies working in the field of renewable energies: wind power, solar energy, bio-energy, geo-energy, water power, electro-mobility and fuel cells. To be included in the RENIXX World, companies must earn more than 50% of their revenues from the renewable-energy sector. The international stocks with the 30 highest free-float market capitalisations form the RENIXX World.

The stock prices of RENIXX companies are weighted according to their market capitalisation (free float). The calculation period comprises trading days from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. The RENIXX World can be called up, for instance, via the world's leading financial-information providers Reuters and Bloomberg, or via the Financial Times.
